20 iPhone – Hacks, Tips and Tricks [Part 1]


The iPhone is a Internet and multimedia enabled smart phones manufactured and marketed by Apple Inc. Currently market has millions of iphone apps to make use of iphone much easier for the users. But still to get more from your iphone there are certain iphone hacks, tips and tricks available, using which you can get more features in your iphone and get a more wonderful experience.
1. How to reduce the size of iPhone app icons:
With several apps installed on your device, navigating through them can become annoying sometimes. You can add additional columns to your home screen but, it will only clutter it. The other way would be to use an app that will retain the uncluttered looks of your home screen and can increase the number of columns at the same time.
The app that you should check out is Shrink, it is available for only $ 0.99. To resize your icons, simply point to “Settings” and tap on “Shrink” and then select the icon size. Choose the appropriate icon size. Once you selected the size, simply tap on the button “Respring”.

2. Bringing Flash On iPhone:

Since its launch iPhone has been lacking Flash capabilities in it. Now the Flash content is available on your iPhone via the SkyFire Mobile Browser 2.0. It will allow you to view the Flash videos which will be downloaded from the Skyfire servers that will be directly converted in HTML 5 to make it viewable in your web browser. Beside being the first app to integrate Flash, this app is available on AppStore for just $2.99


3. How to add an extension to a contact’s phone number:

This is a simple way to add an extension to any of your contact’s phone number, so that you don’t have to hear “If you know the extension of the party you’re trying to reach, please enter it now” speech. Follow the steps given below in order to successfully add an extension to contact’s phone number.
a. Click on the Contact
b. Click on Edit
c.   Press the number, followed by “+*#” at the lower left corner
d.   Press “pause”, which inputs a comma and then enter the extension

4. Redirecting A Call On your Voice Mail:

Sometimes, you are not in a position to answer your calls and you don’t want to hang them up either. In these cases the option of voice mail comes handy.Simply double click or tap on the Sleep/Wake Button that is present on the top right corner of your phone. If you are using headphones, then simply press the microphone button twice.
5. Disabling Auto-correct and auto-capitalize options:This feature is one of the best in the iPhone. But sometimes this can become annoying and you want to disable it. The following steps will help you in turning off this feature.
a. Go to Settings
b. Go to General
c. Go to Keyboard and select the required options

6. How to scroll back to the top:

Suppose you are viewing a long web page or a long mail conversation and you want to scroll back to the top of the phone.Simply tap the status bar gently. This status bar is located on the very top of the screen and contains the clock and other service alerts. However there is no trick by which you can reach the end or the bottom of the page.


7. Swipe To Delete:

To delete any unwanted file on your iPhone simply, swipe your finger across the file which will expose a delete so that you can go on with you action.

8. Capturing Screenshots:

You can capture screen shots of your iPhone screen by simply pressing the Home and Power/Sleep button simultaneously. Continue pressing it until you hear a sound of camera shutter. The saved image will be stored in “Saved Photos” library.

9. How to turn off SMS Preview:

By default whenever a new message arrives in your inbox, the iPhone will show you the preview of the message which you may not want to share with everyone.In order to disable this feature, you need to have a password protection. Simply point to Settings and then click on Pass code Lock. Enter your secret pass code if you don’t have one. iPhone will bring up a setting screen containing the several instructions to disable your SMS viewing.
Once you receive a text message, the generic message screen will be    there just to inform you regarding the message.


10. Saving Images In Safari:

During surfing, we want to save some images for later use. In order to do this simply tap and hold on to the desired image and you will be presented with an action list that will prompt you to Save the image. After this the image will be saved on your camera roll immediately.
